GOTY 2019

Talkin' 'bout them games. Games I played but didn't love: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Oddly enough, I've never played a Castlevania game before, but this was new and fresh so I thought I'd give it a shot.  All in all, it's a decent melee metroid game.  It feels very slow and clunky, but intentionally so.  The story is pretty barebones and boring, but you get to dress up the main character.  Those two balance each other out.  I don't really have much to say about it other than I didn't particularly enjoy the way the obfuscated the "true" ending. Ape Out This is a REALLY good indie game, besides the last stage (off screen instant kills).  Jazz drums over what maybe could be compared to something like, I don't know... Maybe Smash TV?  Utter chaos and great music.  The visuals are wonderful too.  Hard not to like, really. Yakuza Kiwami 2 Another Yakuza game I couldn't bring myself to finish.  The combat just is not fun to m

Top 10 Records (I listened to in) 2018

So this list is different than most because I don't listen to that much "new" music.  I'm going to just say what records I listened to the most.  Enjoy. Honorable Mentions Cruelster - Riot Boys - 2018 - Lumpy I don't really like 45 RPM LPs as a format.  Too short.  Put some more songs on there.  The songs here are good.  Not really memorable or anything unexpected from the Cruelster camp but that's not bad, it's just not great.  That said I'm still really happy to have it and listen to it and stick it up my bum hole. Erik Nervous - Assorted Anxieties - 2018 - Neck Chop I listened to this a great deal, but it is a compilation at the end of the day.  Definitely the only way I listen to Erik's music these days is through this LP, but I've heard it all before.  Doesn't make it any worse, still gets great rotation, but it is what it is. High Rise - High Rise II - 1986 (2018 Reissue) - Black Editions I love this stuff when it'

CRPG Thoughts: Divinity: Original Sin II, Tyranny, and Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Hi it's me Connie Voltaire.  That's my name. Just played through three CRPGS.  Here are my thoughts on them. Yep that's what I look like Foreward: The first CRPG I played with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.  This was about a year ago.  What do I remember of it? Well there was some really boring ship combat in it, some puzzles I didn't really understand, and some cool stuff where you talk to gods.  I barely remember the plot, I don't remember any of the characters, and I never finished the game (I got bored) but it was a good enough introduction to the genre that it lead me to check out another game in the series, which in turn lead to me play another then another.  I say all this mostly because the vast majority of CRPG fans have played through classics like Baulder's Gate, Fallout, and so on, while I have not. I'm viewing these games without any tint on my glasses.  As a matter of fact, I don't wear glasses at all. What is a CRPG?  For t
